Comixology Indie Mega Sale – Clockwork Watch Discount Galore!!

IndieMegaSale

Comixology is hosting a “Mega Indie Sale” which includes several Clockwork Watch titles. It’s a great chance to catch up on the story, and grab some goodies at a major discount.

Advance copies of Clockwork Watch: Evolution Two will be on sale at Thought Bubble in Leeds, later this month.

ANGELS COMETH…

It was another race to the finishing line, as we prepared for San Diego Comic Con 2018. The book was almost ready, but it had to be proofed, lettered, and eventually sent to our printer in the USA.

Evolution is quite different from the other books, in that it is part fiction, part role-play. Much of the narrative was acted out at our immersive theatre events, and what you read is a graphicised account based on actor / performer feedback.

We’re glad to say that our plan to combine both worlds in a co-created story is coming together. It also marks the start of a working relationship with artist Megan Bradbury, who has partially agreed to work on Angel Corps by Haley Moore, which we hope is a new tentacle in this weird world of Clockwork Watch.

Megan had her first glimpse of the new book while at SDCC.

We always look forward to getting feedback from readers, and chatting with them about how the story is developing, especially as we initially intended on doing three books, and we’re now on book eight! But one thing we’ve noticed is that many are really excited about the co-created nature of this story, after all – they are creating part of the narrative.

But hold a minute, I hear you say… How about the newly published Evolution Omnibus – our third collected edition, with a stylishly designed cover by Fabio Duarte Martin? Yes, this is in fact our  11th book (we now have three omnibus editions), and guess what? There’s more to come.

The final two chapters of the main story – “Sins Of My Father” are currently being illustrated by Jennie Gyllblad, and will be published in 2019 and 2020 respectively, while Angel Corps is scheduled somewhere in between, and then we have a difficult decision of whether to adapt the film script or not.

SDCC also gave us a chance to re-cover the Tick Tock IPA Omnibus in shiny gold – another winning move by Fabio.

Back to Comic Con. It was great to see all our readers, connect with new supporters, and we had an amazing time at the Starburner Courier Service Steampunk Gathering. Check out the gallery below.

We hope to get reviews of Clockwork Watch: Evolution soon, which normally happens close to the launch at The Lakes Comic Art Festival (LICAF) in Kendal this October.

To the many friends that have asked when we’ll host one of our immersive live events outside London, we are proud to announce that the Clockwork Watch team are collaborating with students of Kendal College, and LICAF  to host “We Are Angels” our next live show, and yes… it will be based in Kendal, Lake District. Check out the LICAF event website for details.

Evolution: Two – First sneak view of art by Megan Bradbury

We’re really excited to share the amazing art created by Megan Bradbury, for Clockwork Watch: Evolution Two.

The story is a combination of fiction by Corey and Yomi, and role-play by participants at our live immersive events.

Here are two pieces to wet your whistle.

Attendees were given a token on arrival at the event. Many didn’t realise it would be of great importance when they started interacting at the event.

Launching On Patreon!

2018 was always going to be a big year for this story, and to make things go with a boom, we’re launching a Patreon campaign in a bid to help us finish things in the most appropriate way.

We will be publishing three more books, and hosting several live events around the UK to open the narrative up to participants who have supported us since launch in 2011. Watch this space…

British Library
Last week, Clockwork Watch creator, Yomi, joined Bryan Talbot, Kate Ashwin, Daniel Merlin Goodbrey, and John Freeman at the British Library to chat about digital comics.

It was a great session, and the hope is that there will be more opportunities like this in the future. Much gratitude to the British Library team, and everyone who came to the event.

Hobby Crafting with Tick Tock IPA

Two years ago, we sent an unbound copy of Tick Tock IPA to the First Kendal Cubs, for their Hobby Craft Activity badge. I am pleased to say they were all inspired to create their own comics, and all got their badges!

The Cubs sent a delegation to meet us at the Lakes International Comic Art Festival, and we were humbled by their present.

John Freeman Talks Clockwork Watch with Yomi and Corey

As an independent / self-published project, it can often be hard to get mentions in the press or on social, which is why appreciate any coverage we get! And guess what? We have a great story to share with you, so kindly listen to John Freeman’s interview with Yomi and Corey, for Down The Tubes. Recorded at the 2017 Lakes International Comic Art Festival, in Kendal.

A great interview about Clockwork Watch by Down The Tubes, John Freeman.

Kendal Calling – LICAF 2017

lakescoreyyom

Our annual trip to the Lake District was a rollercoaster, promising to be even bigger in 2018.

This was the 4th time the Clockwork Watch team were at the Lakes International Comic Art Festival (#LICAF), an event that boasts an amazing contingent of creators, makers, authors, and illustrators.

The organisers have been super supportive of our project, with the team making all the respective hurdles a breeze, and we can’t thank them enough. Huge props to Carole, Julie, Jonathan (all the way from Canada), Chris and all the volunteers that make the weekend a family affair.

soldout

We actually sold out of a Clockwork Watch title for the first time at a convention, making the Lakes 2017 a major milestone in the history of this project. It goes to show that promoting a Steampunk title in a town like Kendal works. People loved the story, in fact many came back after buying one of the books last year. It was great to hear their feedback, chat about plot points, and tease the future storyline.

LICAF covers all spectrums of the self-published comic sector more than any other convention that we’ve attended in the UK.  It is an event for creators, makers, and grassroots comics, making it a must for anyone interested in comic book art or writing.

This year was a blast, as we forged closer links with some of the country’s top comic stores, artists, and a great contingent of creators from Australia, and Holland. One of the special treats was having time to chat, and plot 2018 with Stephen of Page 45, and the legendary Bryan and Mary Talbot, who signed copies of the final Grandville graphic novel at our table on Sunday.

We’d like to thank John Freeman and the ‘Down The Tubes’ blog for interviewing us, and express our gratitude to the town of Kendal. We love you and promise to be back.
