Another rare treat! Professor Elemental’s Rap Tutorial at our Tomorrow’s World… Today! event in May 2012.
A new story emerges from within the murky world of Clockwork Watch, leading to a kick arse crowdfunding concept. This will hopefully be the first of many independent projects to launch from inside our storyworld. This proposition is based on a co-created story arc and has been masterminded by Haley Moore aka @toenolla.
We take NO commission, ownership of IP or have creative control of this project, and are extremely proud that Haley’s taken the opportunity to launch with us.
Here’s Haley:
“After six months of constant prototyping, intense planning and caffeine-fueled story development, my new project, Laser Lace Letters, has finally gone up on Kickstarter. It’s a unique project with elements of handcrafting, fragmented storytelling, and design. Also, it brings together two of my favorite things: steampunk, and lasers.
Laser Lace Letters is a line of laser-cut felt cameo pins that I designed and prototyped at Dallas Makerspace. I’ll be making for everyone who pledges for them during the Kickstarter. They’re designed to be worn like a button or a badge: on a lapel, a backpack, a purse, or even on a hat.”

Stitching Time: How We Created An Interactive Steampunk Narrative Called Clockwork Watch, by Yomi Ayeni printed by Tor.com during Steampunk Week.
This is how we’re concluding one aspect of the Clockwork Watch story, but… it continues through contributions from the participants, which will be incorporated into our narrative. If interested in contributing kindly contact us at “informer – at – clockworkwatch – dot – com”.
Clockwork Watch: Breakaway, our next graphic novel, starts 18 years after the arrival of Janav, Tinku and Chan from India.
Kindly peruse this special edition of the London Gazette, and keep an eye on Advancement of Sciences…

SXSW panel picker is LIVE. Ian Ginn & Yomi Ayeni are hosting a panel called “Creating Indie Transmedia Projects.”
It’s a chance to explain the motivation behind creating a concept from an Indie perspective. We do it without funding, brand partnerships, or any financial assistance. We are solely motivated by telling participatory and engaging stories, and connecting with our audience.
After labouring with this new baby, I can now announce that Clockwork Watch is more than a labour of love. I know some will beg to differ, but you have to admit we’ve done some amazing things with the £6500 crowdfunded through IndieGoGo!
And now a new chapter is about to begin… One of the inspirations behind starting this adventure was to create a platform through which people can tell their own stories, by using our ongoing narrative as a guide – we create the story universe, and you create a character and help build the world. So far our participants have registered, but many have been shy to take up the challenge and become storytellers or just contribute, that is until now.
The first project to launch off the Clockwork Watch narrative is a crossover / collaboration with Haley Moore (aka @Toenolla), maker of extraordinary objects and a killa storyteller in her own right.
Transmedia is a relatively new concept that really hasn’t been defined or explored at great depth. We would like you to join us on this adventure, we believe it is the start of “something wonderful”
